The very successful Kincaid Field Conference took place on July 25, 2009, at the Baymont Inn in Metropolis, Illinois. Sponsored by the Center and the Kincaid Mounds Support Organization (KMSO), the program featured recent work at the Kincaid site as well as presentations on current and previously unreported research on Mississippian archaeology throughout the Greater Confluence Region. The program included 15 oral presentations and 4 posters (link to Abstracts). Over 120 people attended the event, including archaeologists and students from 6 states. A guided field trip to the Kincaid site, in which over 70 conferees participated, followed the formal program.
